Alcor Executive commits to GDPR!

The GDPR becomes effective on May 25th 2018

What is GDPR?

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. On 25th May 2018 a new EU law replaces the current Data Protection Directive. The GDPR sets out stricter requirements for collecting and processing personal information, giving individuals more rights regarding their own personal data.

This new European data act is important for all organizations in Europe and those dealing with European companies or nationals..

Which processes are impacted by GDPR at Alcor Executive?

Since our business is about people, the GDPR has an impact on our core processes in:

-          Executive Search

-          Talent Assessment and Development

-          Coaching

-          Outplacement

-          HR consultancy

Why? What is it all about?

It is all about collecting personal data. The GDPR will add constraints to what sort of candidate data is collected and how that’s done as well as the way data is stored and handled. In addition, candidates will have increased rights to access their data or request it to be deleted at any time.

At Alcor Executive, we define what data we use for what purpose and we are dedicated to only collect data which is necessary to meet common objectives we have set in our collaboration with the professionals (eg. candidates) we are working with.

GDPR also means that personal information can only be retained for as long as is it needed, and for the purpose it was acquired. This in particular impacts recruitment related data.

At Alcor Executive, we document, how which type of data is processed and where it is stored as well as who has access to which it. Of course, we also make sure our suppliers are compliant with the new regulation. The key purpose of GDPR is to keep private data safe and Alcor Executive is proactively working to ensure that your data is safe with us.

What have we done so far?

So far, we have taken the right measures around data protection and IT security. Like any other business, GDPR has also significant implications for Alcor Executive. We review on a continuous basis our approach when it comes to processing and storing personal data, working on this together keeps the whole team aware of the importance of data protection. All procedures we have put in place so far and will put in place in the future on how we collect, store and provide access to private data, will be in line with GDPR with the objective to reach full compliancy.
