in order to assist the Executive Director in developing and implementing strategic plans of the organisation as well as coordinating the development and execution of strategic fundraising efforts.

 

Major responsibilities:

 

Strategy and operations

  • Assist in strategic business planning and analysis
  • Work with the Executive Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations
  • Supervise staff for specific programs or activities and monitor performance against objectives
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies, implementing new procedures or operational changes as required
  • Assist in budgeting and monitoring expenses as required
  • Liaise with members and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction
  • Write and deliver progress reports when necessary
  • Serve as acting Executive Director when required, including providing signature authority, resolving issues with staff or stakeholders, and overseeing programs and activities
  • Provide input and feedback on a range of other projects and initiatives, especially in areas of training, capacity building efforts and peer2peer exchange visits

 

Fund-raising and Sustainability

  • Take the lead in sourcing adequate financial resources for long-term planning and annual workplan implementation
  • Research funding sources, oversee the development of fund-raising plans and write funding proposals
  • Ensure regular communications with funders
  • Manage financial resources according to strategic priorities and in line with approved budget

 

Institutional representation

  • Interact with the public and represent the Network
  • Deliver against speaking opportunities during events

 

Events and communication

  • Design and coordinate events such as regional workshops, Expert Forums and annual Member Meetings (content, agenda, advertisement, registration, …)
  • Supervise the work done by the team in terms of events preparation, publications, Network communication outputs, etc.
  • Foster and maintain positive member relationships
  • Support Network advocacy, marketing activities and knowledge products through technical contributions

 

Profile requirements:

 

  • Ideally a Master’s degree in business management, finance, economics or related fields
  • Expertise in microinsurance or inclusive insurance will be considered an asset
  • At least two years of experience in a senior manager or equivalent role in a similar organization
  • Extended fund-raising experience from public and private donors (e.g. foundations)
  • Experience in public speaking and event design, coordination and facilitation
  • Proficient in English and fluent in French, other languages like Spanish or Portuguese will be considered an asset
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Comfortable self-starting assigned projects
  • Hands-on, versatile and familiar working within a small, dynamic team
  • Confident and eager to engage with members, speakers, funders, and all stakeholders
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, innovation, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
